A little bit of Lambda Chi Alpha history

Our fraternity has had a long and noteworthy past. Although many of us finished our new member education many years ago, we thought it was time to share a few more fun facts about the history of Lambda Chi Alpha.

  • Starting in 1993, Lambda Chi Alpha began to the North American Food Drive, the largest single-day fraternity philanthropic project at the time.
  • Lambda Chi was the third fraternity to initiate over 200,000 in the year 1991.
  • During WWI, 90% of Lambda Chi members were in war service with six Zetas turning inactive.
  • About 1,000 brothers and guests attended the International Centennial Celebration held on July 31, 2009.
  • The first fraternity quarters was located in Boston at 16 Westlake Avenue.
